Whether it's a scary monster, a femme fatale or an adorable critter, I put to paper (or screen) any character that pops into my head. My imagination always working overtime, with every stroke my characters develop unique personalities, so by the time I'm finished they've got an entire backstory, worthy of a sitcom pilot. I like to experiment with different aesthetic styles in order to best convey the characters' moods.
Sparing my subjects the pain of sitting motionless for hours, I draw highly detailed portraits from photographs of their choice. I work with pencil to create either individual or group portraits, in various sizes. For more information, check out my Etsy shop here.
My lifelong love of movies nurtured what many call a wicked sense of humour - so now I put my musings into literary form. Check out samples of my feature length screenplays and collection of film parodies (which are my favourite method of flexing the comedic muscle).
A natural people person, I've volunteered at numerous festivals and large scale creative events. My duties included admin, assisting the attendees, setup and organisation of screenings, research & development, VIP liaison, security, training new recruits... there's more. I eagerly take on any task to make sure the events run smoothly and most importantly - that the patrons have a great time!
The following are some of the events I've been involved in:
CTN Animation Expo, Burbank CA; London Screenwriting Festival, London UK; Sundance London Film Festival, London UK; LOCO London Comedy Film Festival, London UK; Sundance Film Festival, Park City UT
I've worked with various clients to help them choose their visual look. Combining traditional drawing with digital techniques, I create images and moodboards to provide a range of interpretations and generate new concepts.
Having completed ABRSM Grade 8 in piano, I enjoy playing original film scores, composing melodies and writing my own variations of famous songs. I performed my rendition of Placebo's "Meds" for a modern production of A Midsummer Night's Dream and was commissioned to arrange and play Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" for a wedding ceremony.
Recordings of my music are coming soon!
Being bilingual, I've utilised my Russian to work on screenwriting and theatre projects. I've edited a short script for a student film project in Moscow and provided detailed translation and analysis of Russian documentaries for research towards a screenplay of a historical drama. Also, I had the privilege of working with time-honoured actor David Yip on his play "Yellow Face" at the National Theatre, London. I was Mr. Yip's dialect coach for his lines in Russian, breaking down sentence structure and simplifying tonalities, so he could accurately capture authentic Russian speech and accent.
Although I grew up in a country that skips from August straight to Christmas, I take Halloween very seriously, particularly the decorations and pumpkin carving. From humble Hitchcockian beginnings with a blunt kitchen knife to clay-carving tooled carpal tunnel wonders, take a spooky peak at my pumpkin collection and bring on Halloween 2018 for new additions!
